Fixed-window patent citation influence

This measures later patent references, not commercial uptake. The comparison universe is all US utility grants, including foreign-inventor grants.

Grant cohort Window Arkansas documents Relative to same-year, first inventional CPC subclass mean Excluding observed shared assignee
2015–2022 3 years 3,423 1.064 1.173
2015–2020 5 years 2,631 1.052 1.152

A relative score of 1 is the reference mean within field/year; arithmetic means can be influenced by a small high-citation tail. Three- and five-year views have different mature cohorts, so they are sensitivity checks rather than a measured change over time.

Dates come from actual citing grants; the citation table's citation_date describes the cited document. Duplicate citing–cited pairs are counted once. The first listed inventional at-issue CPC subclass defines the field; missing fields and zero expected means leave the relative score undefined, never zero. Applicant/examiner flags may overlap.

Shared assignee is exact release-specific organization-ID overlap. Unknown assignee pairs remain visible and cannot be called independent citations. Corporate-family disambiguation and continuation relationships can affect remaining counts; neither identity nor family-independent influence is inferred.
